Best Driveway Alarms-The Top Three

Ann Monticello |

Today we’re continuing our series “best of” where we describe the top two or three products in the different categories that we carry. Today we're doing driveway alarms which can be an important part of a home security system.

The first on our list is the very inexpensive and effective Driveway Patrol. It has a motion-activated range of 30 feet and a viewing angle of 30° and uses infrared motion detection technology. It installs outside in seconds with no wiring. There is a 400-foot range signal. The transmitter goes outside, the receiver inside. It can be used to detect visitors, vehicles, intruders or kids coming and going.

The next owner list of popular driveway of alarms is the Door/Driveway Alarm that also has a range over 400 feet. It uses passive technology to monitor an area you select. Once motion is detected an alarm sounds.

Third, on our list is a popular Hardwired Vehicle Sensor (as shown here). This alert system sends a signal directly through the wire to your house and alerts you anytime a vehicle drives into or out of the driveway. It detects vehicles in a 10 to a 12-foot radius. The sensor can be either across the driveway or parallel to the driveway. The whistle alert is adjustable to sound for 2, 4 or 8 seconds.

Check out all of our Driveway Alarms to see if one of them won’t be perfect for your home.
