The Ballistic Protection Levels are as follows:

Level 3A: (Low) Protects from 40 S&W, .357 SIG, 9MM, .45 ACP, .38 Special, .357 MAG, and the high powered .44 magnum used famously in the movie Dirty Harry. High-level protection from most handguns.

Level 3: (Medium) Protects from 40 S&W, .357 SIG, 9MM, .45 ACP, .38 Special, .357 MAG, .44 MAG, 7.62x39, 5.56x45 M193, and 7.62x51 M80 Ball. This is real protection, 5.56 is the most common round for the AR platform rifles with the 7.62 NATO being the most common round for the M14.

Level 3+: (High) Protects from 40 S&W, .357 SIG, 9MM, .45 ACP, .38 Special, .357 MAG, .44 MAG, 7.62x39, 5.56x45 M193, 7.62x51 M80 Ball, 5.56x45 M855 and .30-06 JSP for even higher level rifle protection.
