Mace Pepper Spray is the self-defense spray market leader whose name is synonymous with Pepper Spray. Mace is a brand name that carries a registered trademark owned by Mace Security International. Mace originally marketed a tear gas (CN, which is an abbreviation for chloroacetophenone) self defense spray. Today, Mace brand self-defense sprays either contain Pepper Spray (OC, which is an abbreviation for oleoresin capsicum), Tear Gas (CN) or both (OC & CN). Mace Pepper Spray is the most widely used Pepper Spray in the world.

Most pepper spray does not have tear gas. If a pepper spray has tear gas, it will clearly state that it does.

TSA COMPLIANCE

One 4 fl. oz. (118 ml) container of mace or pepper spray is permitted in checked baggage provided it is equipped with a safety mechanism to prevent accidental discharge. Self-defense sprays containing more than 2 percent by mass of tear gas (CS or CN) are prohibited in checked baggage.

We recommend checking with your airline as some may not allow this item in checked bags.
