Home Security – The Different Types Of Safes To Protect Your Valuables

Shopify API |

It is a matter of public record that most home burglars are amateurs. The vast majority of them, to be precise closer to 90%, do not do it for a living but to feed an occasional drug habit. Professional burglars are relatively rare. But no matter what kind of burglar it is, statistics show that they will spend no more than then five or 10 minutes inside a home. The reason for that is simple-they just don’t want to get caught.

It is also a statistical fact that almost all burglars work by themselves. So if you can figure out a way to hide your valuables long enough for the 10 minutes to pass, chances are the burglars will leave empty-handed. They do know what they’re looking for. They’re looking for credit cards, cash, jewelry or anything else that’s easy to pawn that can get them some quick cash.

Almost by definition that leaves floor safes and other heavy objects out of the question. Most floor safes are just too heavy to carry out of the house especially by only one person.

So the best two ways to protect your valuables are with what are called hidden safes or diversion safes and floor safes. Diversion safes are common household items that have compartments in them that are big enough to hold valuables such as cash, credit cards and jewelry. They use the age-old expression of “hiding in plain sight” as a key to success. Who would think of looking in an ordinary spray bottle for credit cards?

Or who would think to look in a tub of Oreos, Tootsie Rolls or mini grahams for cash or jewelry? And no burglar in his right mind is going to open up a container of Morton salt to look for cash, jewelry or other objects worth stealing. That is why diversion safes are so effective. Those are just some examples of the many types of diversion safes that are on the market today. They are so common no one would think about them as a hiding place for items of value.

The other type of safe that is effective in protecting your valuables is a Home Floor Safe that weighs too much for a single burglar to carry out of the house. Home floor safes either have an electronic keypad or a combination dial lock, either one of which is a little too sophisticated for the average amateur burglar. That virtually assures your valuables will be protected.

Check out our close to 100 different SAFES that can all be used to protect your valuables. One of them will work for you.
