Home Security – Review For Four Of The Best Wireless Motion Detector Alarms

The home security industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the country. The reason it is growing is simple. Homeowners make home burglary easy and it is a high reward low risk enterprise.

There are thousands of products on the market today. Here we take a look at motion detector alarms and compare and contrast four of the best.

The first is the driveway patrol motion detector. It is one of the simplest and least expensive motion detectors you can get. It has a 400 foot range and is battery-operated. You can install it in seconds with no wiring needed. It is motion activated and uses an advanced infrared motion technology. You place the transmitter outside near the driveway or walkway and the receiver goes inside. When someone approaches the transmitter it sends a signal to the receiver inside the house. It sells for $17.95.

The “Strobe” 8 piece home security alarm system is a little bit more elaborate. It sells for $69.95 and includes one RF motion detector, two infrared remote controls, two glass break sensors, two RF magnetic sensors, one remote external alarm and one panic alarm remote. It provides similar quality protection as a professionally installed system at a fraction of the price. The motion detector alarm is effective up to 10 yards away The glass break sensors can detect vibration caused by an intruder attempting to break through a window. If the motion detector, glass break sensors or magnetic contacts detect activity, it sends a signal to the external siren which will respond with a very loud alarm and strobe light scaring the intruder away and alerting your neighbors.

The “HomeSafe” wireless security system has one main base unit. The wireless window door sensors can transmit up to 300 feet. The motion detector sensor has a range up to 25 feet and a detection arc of 110 degrees. If any of the sensors detects activity, an alarm sounds and sends a signal to the base unit which automatically dials the first of five pre-programmed phone numbers. You can disarm the system with the remote. This system sells for $99.95. You can expand the system by adding up to 14 additional sensors.

One of the lesser-known home security products is called the “Voice Alert” system. It is called an ‘annunciator’ because you program messages into the base unit that announce activity in each of up to six separate areas. The wireless PIR sensor transmitter can cover a range of 40′ x 40′ and transmit up to 1000 feet in open space or 300 feet through walls. When motion is detected by the sensor transmitter a message is played on the base unit located inside the house. You can cover areas like a swimming pool, a driveway, a detached garage and alert you of activity in that area. The transmitters are completely weatherproof.
