This would not be safe to hide a key on the outside of a vehicle. The slide top does not close well and would easily vibrate open.

Thank you David for taking the time to leave your feedback. Don't let its lightweight design confuse you, I can assure you that this product does what it is advertised to do. It has a strong magnet and durable case. Our in-house tests concluded this is the best product of its kind on the market. We have been selling it for years with little to no returns.

This box has a very strong magnet - almost couldn't get it off my refrigerator when I tested it. It doesn't hold my 2014 Honda Civic key fob, but it would hold a lot of ordinary keys. (If you want to use this in the wheel well be sure to check your car. My 2014 Honda Civic doesn't have any metal in the wheel well, so no magnet is going to work.)

No issues. I got what I expected, in a timely way for a fair price. I suggest that the buyer might put a bit of bright-colored duct tape on the box to make it easier to locate and retrieve.
