This ZAP™ stun baton has the capability to release 1,000,000 volts (1.09 microcoulombs) of stopping power that will impair any attacker for approximately 5-10 minutes. To further add to its efficiency, the stun baton comes with four (4) spiked points of contact, the tip, both sides of the baton, and the handle, which penetrate clothing to scratch and potentially collect DNA that law enforcement can use to identify them later. On top of that, there are side shock plates on the baton shaft and handle guard that prevents attackers from taking it from you. The handle guard of the baton covers the hand to act like brass knuckles for another way to strike as well. Plus, it has an LED flashlight that provides you with visibility at night or can temporarily blind attackers. Lastly, it is powered by a rechargeable battery that can be charged in standard wall outlets with the included cable and comes with a heavy-duty holster with a belt loop for hands-free carrying.

We purchased two of these, as having owned some maybe 4 or 5 years ago, we had loved them. We are seniors now, and we like to walk around the neighborhood, sometimes we come across maybe someone that we are rather leery of, and generally one glance at this, and they give us our space. It is also great to discourage most dogs that are running our way, actually we had that issue just last week when a larger dog came running toward us. It stopped in its tracks, and just stood there while we continued on our walk. It has a great grip handle, which is something I worry about, as my hands aren't overly strong, but I can firmly keep a grip on this. I feel more confidant walking alone with this, which gives me a little more freedom than I would have otherwise.

Good quality and contact points will make sure no one takes the baton from you. I like that the flashlight does not require the switch moving, you only need to press the button. The switch is only for the stun function. Which is loud and looks like it will hurt when it arcs. I only gave 4 stars because I have not used the stun function on someone or a animal attack attempt to my dogs.
