Police Cadets Experience Pepper Spray

Police cadets are those young men and women who voluntarily want to be police officers. They undergo extensive training and testing before they graduate some as long as 18 weeks.

In Huntsville, Alabama a class is in their fourth week-the week of pepper spray training. They are subjected to a healthy dose of pepper spray to see what it is like to be sprayed on one hand to see how effective it is but more importantly to learn how to fight thru it should they be accidentally sprayed.

“It’s important for them to know what they’re carrying and experience with it… You might have out in the field, when applying it, over spray in windy conditions. Or you may have another officer spray you, and you may have suspect spray you… You just never know… and you need to know how to fight through it,” said Lt. Darryl Lawson, the Director of Training.

Pepper Spray is on average close to 90% effective. Fox Labs Pepper Spray is twice as effective as the average defensive spray because it is nearly three times as hot as most sprays.

It should be noted that every police officer in the country goes thru similar training and carries some form of pepper spray on his utility belt. Many carry and use Fox Labs Products.
