This is a story about city officials in Bountiful, Utah who just approved the purchase of $35,000 worth of security cameras to cover an area of city property that’s mostly parks. City officials were quick to point out that cameras will not be pointed at private property.

Officials were quick to point out that there is $10,000 to $15,000 a year in damage done to city parks. The cameras will not be meant to catch people in the act. But if there is damage done they will have video of the people who did it. The cameras will be unmanned even though they will provide a live feed.
