What were to happen if an emergency, such as a fire, earthquake or even a terrorist attack, occurred while you are at work in a tall building? We can’t predict the outcome, but more often than not such disasters leave our exits blocked. There is a way to escape these terrifying situations and it is with the new SkySaver Personal Rescue Device. Contained inside a sturdy, yet lightweight and portable pack is a 160 foot galvanized fire resistant steel cable. This cable is part of a system that has an automated controlled descent device and an automatic brake system. These parts combine to create a safe and simple rappelling unit that allows you to lower yourself to safety down the outside of a building. It is quite easy to use, simply unfurl the straps and buckles and firmly strapped them around your chest, shoulder and legs. Once securely fastened into the pack you will need to take the included anchor bolt and attach it to a solid wall or floor. From here, you will take the carabineer that is affixed to the end of the cable and hook it on the anchor. You are now ready to slowly lower yourself out a window and rappel to the ground, even down a straight vertical drop. Your descent will proceed at about 3 to 6 feet per second. The SkySaver is strong enough to support people that weigh between 66 to 300 pounds. Though the prospect is scary, this rescue device was developed and tested by safety experts, so you have nothing to lose and everything to gain from owning this rescue pack.
