I have two earlier Mace pepper spray guns. This one is just as good or better. They all have the range as far as advertised. I prefer the grip on the newest variety; it seems to fit the hand better. Another difference I’d mention is that the newer one requires a bit stronger pull on the trigger to fire. Once you get used to that, it feels great and looks … well … badass.

I am a Dog Trainer, as much as I love all dogs, I don’t/we don’t know their background. I have been in two situations now at the same dog park when a dog has attacked another dog and won’t let go. The owners panic, (understandably), but just makes the situation much worse. I have run to the situation with the Mace Pepper Gun and sprayed the attacking dog, and the jaw has let loose before a death has occurred. The injured dog in both cases was rushed to the Animal ER with both parties involved, settled and stitches was the outcome. Seeing it also illegal for me to carry a gun, I carry the Pepper Gun 2.0 in my fanny pack, I really like the strobe light feature. As a Swat Officer once said, this will dilate an offenders eyes in the night and throw them off guard first, then spray them with mace, so you’re ahead of the game.
